At BubbleFAST, one of the most famous and unique products that we sell is called the Scotty Stuffer. History of the Scotty Stuffer

Bubblefast created the Scotty Stuffer in response to a specific need from members of our community. We first learned about this need from a friend of ours who had heard the request on an e-Commerce podcast. A woman in Hawaii was shipping fragile hula dolls using Priority Mail. She wanted to ship two of them together to save on shipping and loved the idea of using the USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Padded Mailer but it just didn’t provide enough protection for her dolls. She wished that there was a box that she could fit inside of the mailer to add additional protection but still allow shipping at a reasonable flat rate. Our friend (whose name is Scott) reached out to us to see what we could come up with, and working with our manufacturers, the Scotty Stuffer was born.

About the Scotty Stuffer

When you ship with the USPS and use a flat rate padded envelope, the shipping price is always the same, no matter the size or weight of the product (up to 70 pounds). The bubble cushioning in the envelopes offers some protection but isn’t always the best option for shipping more fragile items. The Scotty Stuffer, trademarked by BubbleFAST, pairs with the USPS Priority Mail Padded Mailers to create a strong, reliable, reasonably priced shipping option. (Note: if Priority Mail is not the best service choice for your package, the Scotty Stuffer can also be used inside of a similarly sized generic poly bubble mailer).

We recently updated the Scotty Stuffer to make it even easier to use. The Scotty Stuffer is now a brown reverse tuck carton. You simply have to pop it open to get flaps on both sides, fold the flaps inward, and tape to seal. The new Scotty Stuffer is also slightly narrower and taller, allowing it to better fit coffee mugs, which are one of the most common items sold by online resellers and e-commerce stores. The Scotty Stuffer fits comfortably in the flat rate padded envelopes used by the USPS and adds an extra layer of protection. The USPS offers free Priority Mail Flat Rate® Padded Envelopes to customers. At 9-1/2 inches by 12-½ inches, these padded envelopes can fit a wide-range of small to medium-sized products, ship at a low, flat rate, and come in a pack of ten envelopes.
